Workshop Descriptions
Intro to AcroYoga:
Cultivate trust, connection and playfulness. This is an all levels class and is great for curious beginners. Students will work in groups to fly, base, and support each other. Thai massage instruction will complement the practice. Benefits include; the release of stored tension, stretching & lengthening of muscles, greater breath capacity, heightened sensitivity, and joy! Abbi and Lori are a dynamic teaching duo and love sharing this movement form. Learn more about them at dharmadoor.com and http://sattvayoga.wordpress.com.
Archery
Archery is a meditative experience – strengthening, calming and centering the mind, body and spirit together in a deeply empowering activity. Discover intuitive archery and link to our ancient past, present and future shamanistic realms. In this workshop, Mary Anna Abuzahra will demonstrate the basics of intuitive target shooting with a basic recurve bow. There is a process for every age and ability. If time allows, the opportunity to shoot will be available to participant who have attended the workshop
Green Mountain Druid Order’s collaborative operating system
What if you could bring all your passion to your workplace? What if you experienced daily the difference that your voice can make and the power of working effectively and efficiently on a team with others? In this hour and half long experiential event, you’ll be introduced the new map and practices that Green Mountain Druid Order is using for our organization, a process that allows folks to engage at a whole new level, allowing for collaboration, innovation, engagement, clarity, creativity and energy to be ongoingly developed. In the second half of our time together, you’ll have a chance to taste experientially two of the processes that form the backbone of this practical map for healthy and effective collaborative organizations.
Haiku: History and Modern Method
An exploration of the history of haiku in Japan and the west, with description of modern English-format haiku method, and the opportunity to write your very own haiku. Please bring writing material.
Intentional Manifestation
Learn how to turn inward to find a deeper connection to your soul. This workshop will play with the Hara – the dimension of your being that connects the pulse of your creative spirit to your true soul path, your life’s longings, and the earth. Start to feel what it is like to effortlessly create in your life from a place of connection, fulfillment, and deep knowing.
Mapping Your Inner Landscape
GMDO members know how to locate their Internal “Sacred Grove” that we associate with safety and peace. Many of us have other internal landmarks, associated with specific emotional states, that we regularly visit. In this workshop, using drawing, small group discussion and structured reflection, we will develop individual ‘maps’ of these places, name them and decide which landmarks need development and which need de-construction.
Psychic protection in an awakening world
Tips & techniques for keeping yourself grounded and protected, while opening up to the other worlds.
Putting away the phone!
Simple approaches to becoming more aware, less stressed and more environmentally friendly.
Sacred Community – Supporting One Another Though Collapse
This workshop presents you with the opportunity to talk about collapse and what we as a community can do to support each other while we live through it. Join Juniper as she guides you through a series of small and large group discussions examining your strengths, fears, and feelings in a collapsing society. We will also explore the many ways in which the GMDO is able to come together in support of one another as we live out this experience.
The Universe Inside of YOU
Under the canopy of the sky at Dreamland, come explore the landscape of your body, mind and heart. Slow down and tune into the rhythms of the Earth in this moderate and invigorating yoga class. Through our asana practice we’ll explore the 5 Elements (but focus on one or two) and how they live and dance inside of each of us. We’ll explore a variety of standing poses, twists and yummy hip openers. All-Levels are welcome to this class, which is based on the principles of Anusara-Yoga. Modifications will be given and those with injuries can modify to fit your needs.
Anjali Budreski is a highly trained yoga teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience; she owns Yoga Mountain Center in Montpelier, Vermont.
Weaving the Web- Spiders protect space and catch negative energies in their webs. We will be making magic sculpture in the form of a spider’s web in the branch of tree for beauty and protection
Wild Plant Walk
Join Annie for a ramble about Dreamland, learning recipes for wild edibles, which plants have medicinal properties, principles of sustainable harvesting, and ways to thank the plant people, in a context of the need to source our food and medicine locally in these Transition times.
Annie is director of Wisdom of the Herbs School in Woodbury Vermont, a hefty stone’s throw from Dreamland. www.wisdomoftheherbsschool.com.
