Connecting and crafting with Nature for strength and protection
Sorry, the Oct. 25th event is cancelled.
Oct. 29th at Rootstock Retreat in Glover VT from 2-8:30pm (includes dinner) For more info and to register for this one, click here.
As we enter the time of dark and cold, we are more likely to feel isolated. There is much in the world to activate our fear, loss, and outrage. Many are feeling depleted and deeply concerned about the future. Now is the time to build in all our support systems to get us safely and sanely through the long winter ahead.
Masks have been used ceremonially in many cultures to go beyond our limited human perception of the world, to merge with other beings, and to access wisdom, healing and power.
In this workshop we will journey to the lower world to call out for an ally who is willing and able to walk with us thru these dark times as a guardian. This could be a creature, faery, plant or ancestor. We will then spend time painting a mask that carries the image and energy of this being. I will provide organic cotton (COVID style) white masks and fabric markers.
We will activate our masks in a sacred ceremony to embody our new allies. Our masks will become powerful magic tools. From now on, when we don our magic masks, we will be stepping into conscious connection, strength and protection. We never walk alone.
This workshop will take place outdoors with limited numbers and safe distancing.
If weather looks wet, we will reschedule.

What happens when a Naturalist and a Druid join forces?
Come find out with us!
- – Basic energetic and phytochemical actions of medicinal herbs on our landscape
- – Bird migration: routes, routines, and possibilities
- – Fall’s role in a healthy and balanced psycho-emotional human ecology
- – After the blossom is gone: flower essences and field botany
- – The yin and yang of seeing and beholding, or how to look with your eyes and your heart at the same time
Our time together will be a rich balance of nature awareness, observation, and identification skills, with subtle energy practices, guided meditations and breath work to connect with wildlife, the elements, the land, our sensing bodies and souls.
Classes will take place outdoors in a small group with safety precautions.
If any of our Thursday mornings involve serious weather- heavy rain, lightening, high wind, we will postpone and add a week.
“Participating in the Nature and Spirit class with Fearn and Jonathan brought much joy to my heart. In these challenging times, I was able to escape to the woods in class with the company of other humans and woodland beings and was whisked away into the space of wonder with my inner child to learn, play, and feel alive.” ~ Rae C
“This class was a perfect dip back into community and the outdoors in the midst of an isolated Summer. The structure of the class in addition to the obvious wealth of knowledge offered from the instructors easily made Nature and Spirit the highlight of my week! Thanks Fearn and Jonathan!”
Jonathan Shapiro is a tracker, naturalist, herbalist, hunter, and forager. He believes that deep knowledge about the wild world around us is an essential step in regaining our spiritual and material connection to our land base. He runs the Fox Paw School in Central VT, where he teaches tracking, naturalist studies, and North Woods skills. He’s also a lead instructor at the White Pine tracking apprenticeship in Southern Maine. Find him at www.foxpawschool.org, or @FoxPawSchool on Facebook and Instagram.
Come together in community on the full moon. Sip a special dream tea by firelight as we honor the growth of the new moon seeds we planted, how they have come to be in our lives. We will discuss the safety of dreaming together, and collectively invoke the wisdom of the Dream. For those camping on the land, there will be an opportunity for a dream-weave the following morning.
Please know we are adhering to strict COVID guidelines. We will be outdoors and will require 6ft. social distancing and masks while in circle.
Sharing the dream you receive is welcome but not required.
